33 Weeks

It's been a good couple of weeks, and they have flown by quickly! I have been feeling much better lately which has been a huge relief. It's been nice to be able to eat again without throwing everything up. And though we have been dealing with a lot of in-law family drama, J has taken care of it and been super supportive which has helped keep things less stressful. I have really been relishing spending time with my kiddos lately before Kodee comes. I know when she arrives, things will be a bit hectic. But the kiddos are so excited for her to come and help take care of her.
Today was my 33 week appointment and they usually go by pretty fast. I went in and only waited 10 min before I was called back to get my weight...I stayed the same. Then time for my blood pressure...112/70. Then I went to do my urine test. I came back in the office and waited for my dr. to come back in. When he came in, he had me lay down and measured my belly and listened to her heartbeat....everything is normal and right on track.
Then he gave me the results of my urine test. I have traces of protein again which can lead to toxemia. It is caused when the kidneys produce too much and therefore "leak" into your urine. So we have to keep an eye out and make sure it doesn't get too high. If so, we'll be delivering her early for safety sake. Guess we'll see in 2 weeks at my next appointment. After that one, I will be on weekly visits. I just can't believe she'll be here so soon. I am a little nervous but super excited to meet this sweet, acrobatic, little one!

31 Weeks

The last 2 weeks have been a bit difficult, especially last week. Apparently, there is a hormone which softens the tissues and muscles in your pelvic and pubic area to prepare for labor. My body has been producing a lot of it lately which explained why I had a lot of pain from the weight of the baby. For a day and a half, I couldn't even walk. I was on bed rest for 2 days, and now I feel much better.
Today was my 31 week check-up. J was off, so he stayed home to take Ry to school and watch Kenna. It was weird to go somewhere alone, but it was pretty nice to enjoy the quiet. The waiting room was empty except me, and I waited 30 min. before I was called back. The nurse, who was training and explained the long wait, took my weight and I gained 1 1/2 pounds. At this rate, I'll probably gain all I lost which is making my Dr happy. Then she took me back to get my blood pressure, 110/72.
When my Dr came in, he informed me of my diabetes results from 2 weeks ago, negative. So far, good stats. Then he measured my belly and listened to the heartbeat. All sounded and looked great. He said I didn't have to be on continuous bed rest anymore...unless the cramping and pain acts up.
I then asked him if we could do another ultrasound because he usually doesn't do them this late in the pregnancy. I told him J really wanted to know for sure what the sex of the baby was because he's insistent it's a boy. We went to the ultrasound room and applied the warm jelly. After about a minute, I asked, "Can you see for sure?" He said nothing is 100%. But just to show him what's what, the baby flipped and BAM! There was no mistaking it now. 100%.....GIRL!!!
We are naming her Kodee Reyn which Ry picked out. Everyday she comes to my belly and talks to her. Either "Hi Kodee" or "You're such a good girl" or "I Love You Kodee" among all else she likes to say to her. The girls are so excited to have a baby in the house. Mostly to dress her up and feed her bottles. But let's face it, we are all pretty anxious to meet her and add her sweetness to our family!

On the left of the pic, is her head and her arm is bent in half...the white dots are her knuckles. On the right side of the pic, is her very prominent girl parts. J was a little sad he was wrong, but of course he will totally love her. As he said though, "I'm in deep trouble!"
